Ahh the Taj Mahal!!! This is India’s only redeeming glory (read the New Delhi post for more) haha. The Taj Mahal is stunning and I loved loved loved being able to see it!
While in Agra we woke up early to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. It was the most perfect experience – saw the beautiful sunrise, had perfect weather and a lot less tourists there. I would recommend to anyone to go see the Taj Mahal at sunrise even if that means waking up at 5AM.
After the Taj Mahal we headed over to see the Red Fort – the second most popular monument in Agra. The Red Fort was a lot larger than I anticipated and very interesting. It is crazy they were able to create such intricate and beautiful architecture with marble during that time period!
In Agra we were also able to go to a local night market. This was an interesting experience, we were definitely the first white people the locals had ever seen. Lots of photos and stares!
Rachael and I had our palms read in Agra as well. The palmist was also an astronomer, here are a few things he told me after reading my palms:
- From the outside I appear to be very innocent but am actually strong like a warrior
- I have the lifestyle of a European but the mindset of an Eastern
- The man I’m dating right now is my soul mate (hey Kyston, talking about you!)
- That my current business will continue to develop and grow and one day I’ll take it international (hello, living abroad!)
Obviously taking what the astronomer/palmist said with a grain of salt but its still fun to think all those things are true!
Taj Mahal was beautiful my friends!
