It’s up, it’s official and it’s live.
Mikyla Marie Artwork is open for business!
This might come as a surprise to some of you, but owning my own watercolor print business has been in the works for quite sometime now.
A while ago I shared my mantra for the year – “to see opportunity, not opposition”. Well friends, I’ve really let this mantra be a guiding force in my life and push me to take this step.
Like many other creatives out there, sharing your art makes you feel as vulnerable as ever. You’re practically opening up your heart and mind saying “Hey everyone! Please peer into my creative soul okay!?” Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s scary!
My first true experience with watercolors was my freshmen year at BYU. It was a hard year for me and I found relief in escaping my apartment, going outside and painting. I had zero idea what I was doing, but the action of putting paint on paper was therapeutic. Over the years I would break out that ol’ paint brush and palette every once in a while. But the summer I moved to St George, I found myself with a paint brush in my hand every night. This time around, it stuck.
Now with the encouragement and support of friends and family, I have decided to share my watercolor prints with everyone. So here is my little watercolor print shop. It’s new, and it’s my little baby.
Already I have learned so much as a young business owner! I’ve grown as an artist, applied business skills I learned at BYU (Yay for HTML and CSS coding classes!), refined my creative brand, etc.
Keep in mind I’m still learning, but every expert was once a beginner right?
I am so excited to have you on this journey with me. I hope there is a print you like; more prints will be added to the shop so make sure to check back periodically. And if you wanted to share my little shop with your friends and family, it would mean the world to me!
P.S. For those of you who are familiar with my site, you’ll see some new additions here and there. Be sure to check out the links attached to each slider image!
