Today we visited Nazareth! In Nazareth we visited the Church of Annunciation and then Mount Precipice. Mount Precipice is the bible location where Christ was threatened by an angry mob to be thrown off the cliff to see if he was a true God. This cliff also overlooks the Valley of Armageddon from the opposite side that we saw yesterday. We then left for Ginosar where we boarded the “Jesus Boat” and went out on The Sea of Galilee. This boy resembles boats back in Christ’s time. We first has a spiritual lesson and talked about the bible stories involving The Sea of Galilee. We talked about how Christ calmed the sea and Peter walking on water. Talking about these bible stories made me realize even more that having faith in Christ but also have faith in his hitting. Our prayers will be answered when the time is right. After our discussion we listened to the Israel National Anthem and then danced on the boat as a group to Israeli music. It was so much fun!!! The boat ride has been one of my most favorite experiences so far!
After the boat ride we went to the Capernaum Synagogue Ruins. I really enjoyed it here because this is the location where Christ healed the boy with the Palsy disease and was lowered through the roof. It is also were Christ healed the leapers, the Centurion servant and Peter’s mother-in-law. All of these miracles really stood out to me and I loved being able to put a location with my knowledge of these stories.
We then traveled to the Mount of Beatitudes. We reviewed the Sermon on the Mount and talked about all nine beatitudes from the scriptures. The Mount of Beatitudes was absolutely gorgeous and is one of my mom’s favorite spots. And now mine too!
Following we quickly visited the ruins of Chorazin and Bethsaida. We also passed Mandala, Mary Mandala’s hometown! We stayed in Tiberias again. Before heading to sleep we went out not he town after dinner and had some delicious Diplo candy bars, watched The Sea of Galilee light show and did a little bit of shopping! I got two silk wrap skirts with beautiful Israeli designs.
