My travels, thoughts, memories, and love all in one place. Life documented as a twenty-something.

London, England - Part One

Normally I wait to write a blog post till I am done visiting a city but London just can't wait. I have been here for a little over 24 hours and I am in love with London. I might be even more in love with London than I am with New York and that's saying something! In the past little bit that I have been here I feel like I have experienced London. Sometimes I feel like I only see a city but I feel like I am apart of London. It probably helps that I have Rachel as my tour guide and she knows London on the back of her hand since she studied here last year.

We left Paris early in the morning and traveled to London by way of the Chunnel. Pretty neat experience except for the fact that I slept through all of it. When we arrived in London we picked up some Chinese take away and hit up the West End musicals. I was able to see Once with a few girls. Can we talk about phenomenal acoustic music!? It was an awesome performance. After we walked through Leicester Square and ate delicious Galaxy chocolate.

The next day we had a business visit at Shakespeare's Globe Theater and the Arsenal Emirates Stadium. All of us girls grabbed fresh squeezed juice and rum steak sandwiches at the Borough Markets for lunch and then went shopping in the city. For dinner we ate at GBK which stands for Gourmet Burger Kitchen, not Gourmet Burger King. After we did a bit of sight seeing around the city. We visited the London Tower Bridge, Big Ben, West Minster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and The London Eye. We also browsed through The National Gallery and took cliché photos in front of a telephone booth. Hey, London was calling and we had to answer!

It has been an extremely successful first little while in London. I love the feel of the city. I'm sure after these next five days I will be obsessed. Hello to new Union Jack flag inspired everything!
