My travels, thoughts, memories, and love all in one place. Life documented as a twenty-something.

Oxford, Coventry & Stratford-Upon-Avon, England

The next morning everyone was loaded onto a bus and we left for a quick outer London tour. The first stop we visited was Stonehenge. I have studied Stonehenge in several of my art history classes. I have always had a goal to visit the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, Stonehenge being one of them. I was really excited to visit Stonehenge. It was really such a neat place to see and learn more about. I think it will always boggle my mind that no one knows exactly what it was used for, instead we just have theories of its purpose.

After Stonehenge we made a brief stop in Oxford. I conformed and bought a cliché Oxford crew neck sweater. And yes, Im already in love with it and haven't taken it off since.

We then journeyed to Coventry for a business visit at Coventry Cathedral. It was awesome to learn about how the cathedral works as both a religious and commercial venue. It was really cool to hear about the history and how the cathedral is now a symbol of peace. The cathedral was bombed during World War II but despite the action of violence, the Coventry Cathedral Bishop at the time wrote Father, Forgive behind the altar.

We are now staying at the cutest bed and breakfast in Stratford-Upon-Avon called Ambleside. The owners Peter and Ruth are the sweetest ever and made us the best English breakfast in the morning! During my time here in Stratford I have been able to visit Warwick castle and Shakespeare's birthplace. I also went for a run through the city of Stratford. I haven't been running since before Paris. It was so nice to be able to go running again and see the hidden streets of Stratford.

Tomorrow is such an exciting day for us. We travel to our final destination.... Iceland!!! So bring it on, I am ready to be surprised!

Oh and apparently stripes are the thing to wear on this trip?
